The lambent flame.

I prayed. Lord knows I prayed
Sometimes answers are there
Sometimes they aren’t
Other times we can’t see them
Other times we don’t need to

What we want
What we need
What we get
What we deserve

Only he who gives knows
Only he who knows gives

For we don’t even know what we know
As we don’t know what we don’t know
There’s meaning only in believing
There’s isn’t even meaning in knowing
Let alone understanding

Goodbye dear friend
I heard a lot about you
Dreamt a lot about you
I know we’d have been just that
The dear friend I never met
The dear friend I’ll meet one day

Thank you for everything
For the souls you touched
And the lives you saved
For the smile you wore
And the hope that you gave
For now let’s believe. RIP Dr Anna O Atai.
